Rolando BIANCHI – Italian born striker. Signed from Reggina for £8.8m.
GEOVANNI – Brazilian midfielder. A free signing from Cruzeiro.
ELANO – Brazilian attacking midfielder. Signed a four-year contract from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Gelson FERNANDES – Cape Verde midfielder. Signed from Swiss side FC Sion in July 2007.
Martin PETROV – Bulgarian attacking midfielder who is described as a talented left-winger. Petrov arrived from Athletico Madrid in a £4.7m deal.
Javier GARRIDO – Spanish defender. £1.5m signing from Real Sociedad.
Vedran CORLUKA – Defender born in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Sven-Goran Eriksson’s sixth signing after he put pen to paper on a five-year deal.
Valeri BOJINOV – Bulgarian striker. Joined from Fiorentina for an undisclosed fee.
Felipe CAICEDO – Ecuadorian striker. City paid Basle £5.2m for his services.
BENJANI – Zimbabwean Striker. City paid Portsmouth £3.87m, a fee that could rise to £7.6m depending on appearances.
Benjani very nearly didn’t sign after reportedly falling asleep at the airport, missing his flight and subsequent medical.
