Dare City fans begin to smell the lavish hotdogs on sale at Europe’s elite clubs? If Shaun Wright-Phillips’ ambition is realised, then they certainly can…

Third placed City have a tremendous opportunity to secure the holy grail of Champions League football. Can the City winger help fire the club into the European big time?

Wrighty’s season has threatened to turn around since his January transfer request and subsequent loan move to Sunday’s opponents Fulham fell through:

‘I never wanted to leave in the first place. I still see a bright future for me here. It is just about getting chances. I have played a few games recently and now I just want to keep doing well…if I am wanted here I will stay.’

The club’s most celebrated Academy graduate added:

‘Silverware would mean more to me obviously because of my background. It would be nice to win something for this club.’

Do you think Shaunie Wright can still cut the mustard and play a major role in the past three months of the season? Give us a shout here or in the VMC Forums.
