Manchester City’s very own Shaun Wright-Phillips has been included in Fabio Capello 23-man squad to face Kazakhstan and Belarus in England’s 2010 World Cup qualifiers.

City boss Mark Hughes was chuffed to bits with SWP’s call up and said…

‘We are absolutely delighted for him; it is just reward for an outstanding start he has made to the resumption of his City career.’

‘He came back to a club he knows well, he is playing with a smile on his face and both Shaun & the Club are benefiting from that.’

Players omitted from the September ‘Three Lions’ squad include Newcastle United`s fallen hero Michael Owen, Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson and Chelsea’s Joe Cole.
