Vital Manchester City newbie, Kyle Lees sent us the following.

This article is merely me airing a thought which has been going round in my head for a few months now and I finally think I have the answer but I would love to see what the rest of you think.

Basically, ever since the summer transfer window and the rumours of Shaun Wright-Phillips leaving I’ve been dreading the day I read the news that he was ready for the off. With that fear in my head I started to think, ‘Did we need him and if so what role would he play for us?’

Interlude…

Sorry but I couldn’t help myself!

When SWP signed for Chelsea all those years ago it hurt me with him being our main player and an academy graduate but then as we all know we got over that. As his time at Chelsea went on and it became apparent that he wasn’t going to feature for them an awful lot I was excited at the prospect of his return, however, it appears to have gone pear-shaped since the signing of Adam Johnson.

Ever since then I have been hoping he would get a chance in the team but, judging by his last few opportunities, especially against Reading on Sunday I think we should get rid and sell him quickly!

Watching him at the weekend against a Championship side he looked terrible and nothing like the SWP of old. I almost felt sorry for the guy as it was obvious his touch, pace and agility has started to fade out. Now, I understand a lot of you may say ‘He needs a run in the team to discover his form’ but look at it this way. If you are out of the side then get the nod from the boss surely you should try harder?

Anyway that’s my opinion.

I’d love to hear what the rest of you guys think.
