Sylvio Mendes Campos Júnior aka Sylvinho has sadly ended up on the scrap heap following his release from Manchester City FC.

Following an illustrious career at Corinthians, Arsenal, Celta Vigo and Barcelona the 36-year-old left-back finally said goodbye to the highlife and now ends up with hundreds of fellow-pro’s on the end of season scrap heap.

The São Paulo born former Brazilian international was originally touted as staying with the well fancied 2011/12 Champions League qualifiers, Manchester City in some sort of coaching role, however, the opportunity has passed the 5feet 8inch tall talisman and now all that’s left for the so-called good looking Brazilian is a return to his native land.

We Blues thank you for your season 2009/10 ten first-team efforts.

Sky Sports News reports the signing of veteran Brazilian defender Sylvinho on a one-year deal.
