Tales Of The Unexpected

There’s definitely a feel a bit better factor in the air, Blues. We can certainly draw parallels with the unexpected unbeaten run around the festive season. As at Boro and The Barcodes, a lot of hard work was done but became rapidly undone and we cannot afford a repeat at this stage. Right now we have some momentum again and we have to take that on at Eastlands.

The backbone of the side is beginning to look much more solid. Isaksson, Dunne and Distin, Barton and….above all else, the unexpected Mpenza. A good deal of us had an idea at the outset that this lad knows where the onion bag is as long as he is fit and he’s been a revelation to date. His performances have thrown an even greater damning spotlight upon the transfer fees and wages squandered on Samaras, Corradi and Dickov. Then again, Lee Badbuy or Lee Peacock(lest we forget) would look like Pele following that shower.

Again, I am going to put aside my proposal of a stretch limousine taxi arriving outside Eastlands to escort the aforementioned strikers and the board and the management off the premises…for now.

The booking of our seats on the Sky payout gravy train remain in our hands and the Easter programme gives us an opportunity to make sure of our destiny. Beat The Addicks and Fulham and we can look towards getting amongst a few other teams with the pressure off. And who knows, maybe messing up the plans of a few top four money bags outfits as well as knackering the UEFA hopes of a couple of others.

We need everyone on board again for Charlton, to get behind them and see where it takes us. We have to get right at them from the off.

Once more with feeling, Blues!
