Joao Cancelo got the nod at left-back as he’s been impressive offensively, creating more chances (0.9 per game on average) and having more interceptions (1.1 per game) than any City defender. Only Jack Grealish (2.7 per game) has more successful dribbles (1.9) and only Manuel Akanji (3.0 per game) has made more tackles (1.9 per game), so he’s been City’s best player at the back.

Kevin De Bruyne got the nod in midfield as he’s been one of the best playmakers in Europe this season. The 31-year-old has one goal and six assists from seven league appearances, creating more chances (3.6 per game) than any City player while boasting more accurate crosses (2.3 per game) too. His inclusion was a no-brainer.

And finally, Erling Haaland was named in attack, having scored 14 goals from 10 games across the board this season. The 22-year-old has five more goals in the league than the second-highest scorer, so Haaland was an obvious choice.
