Taylor Harwood-Bellis has a bright future at Manchester City and is aiming to play under Pep Guardiola next season after impressing on loan at Blackburn Rovers.

The 19-year-old, who has made only a handful of appearances for City, was loaned out to Rovers for more playing time in February, and he’s now prepped to challenge John Stones, Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte and Nathan Ake in 2021/22.

Harwood-Bellis rose through the youth ranks to City’s first-team in 2019/20 and has gone on to make 21 appearances for the U18s, 10 appearances for the U19s, 40 appearances for the U23s and eight appearances for the senior side (Transfermarkt).

The England U20 international was at risk of stagnating with too much reserve-team football at City, but he’s now a regular for Blackburn and flourishing under Tony Mowbray.

Harwood-Bellis has made 11 appearances in the Championship, winning 40/67 aerial duels, blocking 12 shots/passes/crosses, making 26 clearances, giving away only six fouls, being dribbled past just once and averaging a tackle (7) or interception (15) every 39 minutes (WhoScored).

Guardiola should be happy with his progress made and might want to look at him in pre-season, but it remains to be seen if he’ll get a chance ahead of Stones, Dias, Laporte and Ake.
