A New Year begins on Thursday, there will be a few sore heads on the terraces but it’ll be business as usual for City in our latest Premier League fixture.

City are at the Etihad Stadium again on New Years Day as we seek a better result than we managed on Sunday afternoon when Sunderland are the visitors.

As long as a new loan agreement is arranged with New York City we’ll have Frank Lampard available, Manuel Pellegrini has named him in the squad so he’s confident enough.

Yaya Toure should return but Vincent Kompany looks likely to miss out once again as will Edin Dzeko (calf) and Sergio Aguero (knee) until later in January.

Sunderland’s Sebastian Larsson (ankle) could ‘play through the pain barrier’ after going off in their weekend draw but Liam Bridcutt (concussion), Patrick van Aanholt (shoulder) and Anthony Reveillere (calf) are all out.

We won four-one at the Stadium of Light at the start of the month but have only managed three wins over Sunderland in the last 10 Premier League meetings so they’re certainly a bogey team of ours, we would expect to complete the double though wouldn’t we….
