Tévez Looks Boxed In Amid City Positivity

Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide? Pragmatic Roberto Mancini stands for no messing and is adopting a shoulder struggling stance over the dreary saga that is Tévezgate…

Fair play to the City gaffer and The Blues hierarchy, they’ve pressed ahead with careful squad strengthening this summer whilst distancing the club from the public statements and hack nudging of Tévez and his representative.

With the exciting Sergio Aguero now on board for The Citizens realistic title challenge and first ever Champions League campaign to almost unanimous acclaim across English football, Mancio has gone very take it or leave it over the Manchester dissing man who should never wear our captains arm band again:

‘Tevez is our player and I am happy with him – he will return on 4th August. It depends on how he arrives, if he’s in good form. He has a programme of training. He can play in this team, he can play in the Champions League…There’s a chance he might go, but then there’s a chance he might stay here with us…and, if so, we are happy.’

There’s been much debate across Planet Blue as to whether or not City might attempt a Tévez swap deal with Inter Milan for the hatstand Samuel Eto’o who engaged in a dalliance with City a couple of years ago. Mancio says nope:

‘Eto’o is a fantastic player, but he plays for Inter Milan. It’s not true.’

The close to optionless situation is assuming nightmarish proportions for Tévez and his agent who have tripped over themselves to burn bridges with Man City and there is going to be some serious omellete on their faces if Mancio benches what looked to be a rotund Tévez snapped on holiday recently for the Community Shield clash with the rags.

One thing’s for sure, the under contract Tévez is no longer top dog at the Etihad Stadium and if he doesn’t realise that now, he will for sure come the first league game of the season when Swansea come to town.

The pursuit of a creative midfielder continues meanwhile and a fourth signing of the season is expected next week as transfer stalemates begin to give.

UPCOMING FIXTURES:

31 July 16:15: Inter Milan, Dublin, F
07 August 14:30: The rags, Wembley, CS
15 August 20:00 Swansea, Etihad Stadium, PL
