You couldn’t make it up. Details continue to emerge of on strike City forward Carlos Tevez’s winning performance in the Buenos Aires Grand Prix Pro Am Golf Tournament…

Middle fingered salutes don’t come any bigger. As City’s travelling supporters prepare to spend more hard earned wedge to cheer on their stars at Anfield, Tevez continues to be paid by our club to take the absolute piss. There’s no other way to describe it.

Tevez, grinning broadly for the cameras blatantly rubbed shoulders with ace golfers Andres Romero and Sebastian Fernandez. Incredulously, the latter remarked:

‘He didn’t say anything about his problems with his club…But I was struck by the peace he had. He plays golf very well.’

Sure, Planet Blue can console ourselves in the knowledge that we more than got our money’s worth out of the signing of Tevez. But since Munichgate, the financial drain he has inflicted upon a club who have afforded so much preferential treatment to him previously, is a disgrace.

AC Milan and Paris Saint Germain’s hierarchies must be off their rockers in even considering signing the player with a two year club attention span and an entourage who defend the indefensable. As for manager’s like Sam Allardyce who openly talked of taking Tevez on, they did English football’s reputation no good whatsoever.

An employee goes AWOL and is photographed playing a high profile golf tournament.

Surely City, backed by the Football Association must take the strongest possible action now. Nevermind striving to make money out of selling him. Sack him, sue him and seal his utterly tarnished reputation.

In the words of Argentina legend Gabriel Batistuta:

‘I would never do what Carlitos is doing. I would return to Manchester City to work…The club pay his wages and must be respected.’

Explain that away, Kia Joorabchian, Paul McCarthy and lest we forget, Gordon Taylor.
