File under good grief. Quintessentially battered into submission from all sides, Carlos Tévez and his agent-ish advisers have issued a sizeable public apology…

Sorry has very often seemed to be the hardest word for Tévez at the clubs he’s fallen out with, but then again, he’d never previously gone to the lengths of a three month strike because he didn’t get his own way.

City’s announcement last night that the Argentinian timebomb had finally admitted the multiple errors of his ways led to head scratching across Planet Blue and an immediate debate over what the club will do with him next. Tévez:

‘I wish to apologise sincerely and unreservedly to everybody I have let down and to whom my actions over the last few months have caused offence. My wish is to concentrate on playing football for Manchester City Football Club.’

City media also confirmed that the Tévez camp have dropped their appeal against the club over his gross misconduct.

With City still in pole position in the Premier League with 13 games to go and handily placed in the Europa League against a very strong Porto side, numerous City players have publicly welcomed the Tévez apology…But will City’s fans, and above all else, Roberto Mancini?

Tévez has scored 44 league goals from 63 City starts.
