97% of MCFC Vital’s visitors polled today agree that Thaksin Shinawatra and his advisors are out of touch with us…

A damning verdict reflected right across the worldwide web and around SportCity upon the City owner and Chairman’s shabby treatment of Sven-Goran Eriksson.

The League Managers Association tonight announced in a statement that it ‘is deeply concerned about the circumstances surrounding the possible departure of Sven Goran Eriksson from Manchester City FC…’

‘… We feel the current situation reflects a growing trend of football club owners having unrealistic expectations and not giving managers sufficient support and time in the role. Such short-termism is destabilising to the club, its players and its fans and is not the way to develop success on the field.’

Stability clearly does not come into the thinking of Manchester City’s owner despite the three year plan he sweet talks us all with and he obviously demands instant success from a manager he installed less than four weeks before the start of this season with City’s squad in tatters.

By coincidence, the man Eriksson inherited the squad from, England’s Number 2 and our very own Touchline Jester Stuart Pearce had lunch with The Iceman at Carrington today.

Das Daily Mail reports that the men who brought Thaksin to City, Messrs Wardle and Mackintosh, no doubt aware of the tsunami of City fans disgusted backlash building in Manchester were in London yesterday desperately trying to get the Chairman to change his mind.

Mackintosh is alledged to be considering resigning his position and our Captain Richard Dunne might now accept the overtures from Mad Kev at Newcastle. And here lies the key to possible MCFC implosion if Thaksin goes through with this sacking.

What will be the effect upon our coveted young stars and the backbone of the squad Sven has been building and whom he has put so much faith in? Hart, Onouha, Johnson, Ireland and Richards amongst others? Will they too be prepared to get out of what could become Dodge City?

Finally and more immediately, surely no top international gaffer with the right credentials would touch MCFC with a bargepole following this fiasco.

Were he to have watched a tired looking yet resolutely dignified Sven on MCFCTV.COM today, he would have sensed straight away the City manager’s absolute disappointment.

Surely Svennis warrants at the very least a second season in charge of The Blues.
