The VMC Forum posse have spoken and David Silva once again takes the plaudits from another robust trickster performance, this time at Stoke…

It’s worth noting that Silva, written off at the start of the season by that lot ‘in the know’ in Wapping has come more into his own against the more uncompromising sides that he was supposed to be steamrollered against. Not a bit of it. The player has been a revelation in his willingness to mix it and is extremely difficult to disposess.

The mercurial Spaniard told th’official site today:

‘Everything has been made so much easier by the way I’ve been treated so well by my team mates and everyone here at the club who has given me a helping hand.

‘Moving here was tough to start off with, it was difficult physically, the speed of the game was different and I had to adapt to a different lifestyle. The language was a problem, even when playing, but things have gone very well for me since. The weather`s gone a lot colder but I don’t mind it because everything else is going so well for me.’

An encouraging performance too, from Gareth Barry. He has an important role to play this winter as the pitches get tougher and the midfield battles fiercer.
