A wretched City no show against a resurgent Everton got what it deserved. The crew in VMC’s forums have voted City stand in skipper Shay Given as ‘just about Man of The Match…’

There’s a school of thought amongst Blues fans that awarding Given the vice captaincy, something initiated by Mark Hughes, is not a good move at this time with the side clearly lacking leadership and a voice in the middle of the park at Everton.

Still, despite a free kick finding it’s way unchecked through the City wall and inside his near post, Shay did enough to keep the score respectable. He will know now that above all else, City must NOT concede a goal against the rags on Tuesday.

The man in green gives his side of the story at Goodison in the video link at the foot of this article.

Carlos Tevez’s endeavour, despite carrying an as yet unspecified leg strain sees him bag second place in the poll.

Garrido and Benjani’s huff and puff are recognised and the only other light came from SWP who will start against the rags.
