I have been analysing the whole situation since the takeover, and come to the conclusion that Dr. Thaksin Shinawatra is nobody’s fool and knows more about football and where he wants to be than most people give him credit for.

Going back to the original takeover, it took much longer for him to acquire the shares than most people thought, therefore leaving a very short time to attract a manager and players.

At the time, most people had never heard of him and the extent to which he was prepared to invest in football, which made it very limited in who he could get in at short notice to manage the team. Eriksson was a high profile name and most importantly available and as we know, was not the first choice.

He made it quite clear from the outset that a complete review would be made at the end of the season this he has done and in the meantime has been able to review the whole situation and target the man he REALLY wants as Manager.

Whether we agree with his choice or not is immaterial, his intentions to make City a global force is well documented and now his actions, especially showing the likes of Chelsea that he really means business, show that he is a man who will carry this through.

His intention to bring some of the biggest names to the Club show what exciting times lie ahead and I am sure he will fore fill his promise of filling the stadium for every match.
