As Roberto Mancini prepares his squad at Carrington for another challenging run of games the injury news continues to be good on almost all fronts…

The only bad news is that defender Javan Vidal will be out for at least six weeks. The local lad has suffered a fracture in his back, meaning he hasn’t played since City’s League Cup exit at West Brom.

The most uplifting news of the week is that Aleksander Kolarov and Mario Balotelli are now back in full training.

Mancio, as with Jerome Boateng and Michael Johnson’s injuries has brought the two players back carefully and they are sure to feature any time now as we brace ourselves for Lech Poznan and Arsenal at home then three tough away trips to Wolves, Lech and West Brom.

Kolo Toure is responding well to treatment on his tweaked hamstring. He’ll be back in contention for the trip to Wolves. Younger brother Yaya will be starting against Lech tomorrow night.

Our spies up trees around Carrington report that the spirit amongst the Blues squad looks happy, committed and strong.
