Turkish giants an admirer of City defender

According to reports emerging today, 28-time Turkish champions Fenerbache are considering making a bid for Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker. Walker, 32 last extended his contract with the Premier League champions in 2019 and is currently contracted with City until 2024. The England international has appeared ten times in the Premier League for City so far this term. With the rise of 18-year-old Rico Lewis and Walker’s physical capabilities on the decline, the Blues may feel the former Spurs man is surplus to requirements.

According to Turkish broadcaster A SporFenerbache are after the Englishman’s signature and coach Jorge Jesus is set to be a huge admirer of the right-back. A Spor are also reporting that Fenerbache are preparing an offer of €6-7 million euros to tempt Walker away from the Etihad. It’s worth noting the Turkish transfer window is open until February 8th, allowing time for a potential Walker move to proceed.

With the surprising departure of Joao Cancelo to Bayern Munich on loan earlier today, there is no chance City would allow Walker to depart the club. Injuries have hampered Walker solidified his place in the City team this season, the four-time Premier League champion will be pivotal for City in the later stages of competitions especially the Champions League, in which Walker thrives as the right-back to the occasion of facing the elite forwards in football.
