Vital Manchester City received the following article from MCFC_Goatboy.

Three games in and we had three wins and no goals conceded. Wait until you play one of the top four people said then we’ll see what you’re made of. Well now we’ve played Arsenal at home and the rags away.

We battered Arsenal going 4-1 up before switching off late on and conceding a second. Much has been said about the incidents in the game but I’m not going to discuss the appalling behaviour of the Arsenal fans or Robin Van Persie here. We deservedly won the game and carried on our 100% record.

Wait till you play United people said then we’ll see what you’re made of. Huh? I thought it was wait till…ah never mind on to the next match…

Fallout from the Arsenal game and the Argentina Brazil game haunted the preparations for the big game. Adebayor out suspended after his public witch hunt…Robinho injured in the Brazil game…Tevez injured in the same game…Santa Cruz still out following his knee op and even derby hero Benjani still out with injury. Fortunately Tevez was passed fit to play (just) so City had to line up without any of the height they had spent so much money recruiting in the summer.

The game swung both ways…United would score City would peg them back and in a great game the final score was 3-3.

Well, that would be the case if the referee was capable of basic timekeeping but deep into ‘Fergie’ time (5 and a half minutes) after a second half where the medical team worked tremendously hard visiting the pitch on no more than zero occasions Owen robbed the points.

I’m not here to moan about bad timekeeping or bitter Arsenal fans though today. We were told we’d know how good we were after playing the top 4. Well we’ve played two of them and it has me full of optimism for the season ahead.

Arsenal couldn’t cope with us and our under strength team took United all the way to the wire (and past it) on their own ground. I’m disappointed after yesterdays game but optimistic about our prospects for the season.

What do you think of the results so far and about our prospects for the season?
