Ex Newcastle United striker, Michael Owen is open to offers following the barcodes relegation and his expired £120,000 a week contract.

Tabloids suggest the ex-England centre forward may have to settle for a Championship or League One side next season as no Premier League club in their right mind would take on a bloke who has lost his pace and who spends the majority of the season on the treatment table.

Only a few years ago, Owen (29) was the sensation of English football, but sadly he’s had his moment of glory and will no doubt have to settle, as many great footballers have had to endure in the past and play in England’s lower tier.

Of course, Michael could always apply to join Manchester City’s youth academy as an advisor. I am sure his wealth of experience would be greatly appreciated, or failing that, he could always join Aston Villa’s (NOTW link) squad for next seasons relegation campaign.
