The news emanating out of Stretford that David Gill is touting himself to head up the idea of Financial Fair Play in the Premier League is the clearest indication yet that the destitutes along Sir Matt Busby Way are scared of the developments in Manchester.
Gill clearly adopts the view that Platini’s blue print (it is a blue print as it is aimed purely at City) should be followed to the letter in the Premier League is surely an effort to try to drive down transfer fees and to make it that once again only the Stretfords can afford to buy top players based purely upon turnover. They have the biggest stadium so they get more money than anyone else.
What depths will they plummet to in order to get their own way? Not for them the competition offered in East Manchester, oh no ‘It’s ours, all ours and ours only’ is the message from the red morass. Nobody else is invited. In the same way as the red knight self-admittedly cheats his way through each match to gain any advantage he can for his team, the uncomfortable Gill has now adopted similar tactics.
Gill hopes that this will re-pave the way for Stretford to resume as a major force in football in England and Europe rather than being just another left behind by the real wealth of Sheikh Mansour as the Glazers fund all of their enterprises out of the Stretford Sow’s Ear.
So, he has the support of up to 10 members of the Premier League. No doubt this includes the Ferguson Grovelling Crew from Everton, Stoke, Wigan et al, teams who have forgotten that they would be dead if bigger clubs didn’t buy their players at inflated prices.
These clowns make me laugh and make me sick. Why don’t they just get on with the idea that the noisy neighbours have shut them up and get on with making it a competition?
Instead they whinge about the outcomes of new-found wealth v new-found lack of wealth. I’m sure they never spent a lot of money on players did they? They were just fortunate enough to be able to do it on a pay-as-you-go basis. Now that the Blues have not only caught them up but have got a much better playing roster than they have it’s whinge, whinge, whinge…
