Vital Manchester City urges fellow Blues to donate whatever you can to the Carl Ramsbottom appeal.

Carl Ramsbottom is a life long City fan who originates from Heywood.

On 27 November 2008, Carl travelled over to Germany to watch his beloved side play Schalke in the UEFA Cup, however due to a tragic incident at a German train station, Carl suffered life threatening injuries.

Due to this horrendous incident, Carl ended up in a coma for three weeks. He is currently in a rehabilitation unit in Germany while his family remain by his bedside.

The family are hopeful that Carl might be in a position to be repatriated to a rehab unit within the United Kingdom, hopefully sometime in March.

The long-term outcome for Carl is far from certain, however in an effort to make the situation slightly less stressful for Carl’s friends and family, plus, in an effort to make his long term future slightly more secure, City fans have rallied round by arranging various collections and fundraising events.

The next fundraising event is a cabaret night at the Royal British Legion Victoria Avenue, Blackley. The occasion is scheduled to take place on Friday 3 April 2009.

The compare is James H Reeve from Entertainer Dom Collins Music, and DJ Dave will be playing the music. Local band The Microdots and ex City Player Tommy Booth will also be in attendance.

If you would like tickets or more information about Carl’s situation, please phone Ian on 07852826150.
