High Hopes
At the beginning of any new season the anticipation and belief rides high. Having said that, what were your hopes way back in August and has MCFC lived up to your expectations?
I hate setting the bar too high simply because, as the season develops and the games come and go I get fed up with the sense of failure, doom and gloom (passion and sentiment will be the death of me). But this season hasn’t been too shabby, has it (keeping the goal keeper conundrum aside)?
We’re in a great position to reach the Champions League quarterfinals, Chelsea hasn’t quite won the Premier League just yet and as we wait for them to slip up, I think we’re the best placed club to snatch the league title away from them.
I get the sense Pep identified the deadwood a long time ago, with many of us expecting him to enforce a summer player clear-out. Just think about it – a brand new crop of young and talented players heading towards the Etihad. These won’t be the average Joe but world-beaters. Exciting isn’t it?
We have the best coach in the world and dare I say it, the best fanbase – the future looks rosy, right?
