Manchester City’s Manuel Pellegrini and Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp spoke to the press following City’s Capital One Cup Final penalty shoot-out victory.

‘Perfect organisation, a perfect atmosphere and a really great experience, but in the end we lost the penalty shootout. It’s the last possibility to lose. We tried everything.
‘I could be proud about a lot of things the players did today, but I expected we could do things like this so it’s not too easy to be proud of things you think are normal. But they did well in a lot of moments.
‘Before I came to England, everybody told me [the Capital One Cup] is not too important but all the players who were involved today and the players who were not involved today really wanted this cup.
‘They all really wanted this, as did all the people in the stadium – it was a great atmosphere. It was really perfect until the last kick.’

‘I am very happy – and not because this is my final season with City and I have won a trophy,I am very happy for a lot of things.
‘I am very happy for the performance of the team – we played against a very difficult team in Liverpool. You remember the game we played at the Etihad.
‘We played very well and I am very happy for Willy Caballero. He deserved this moment.
‘Willy is a very good goalkeeper. In the penalty shoot-out, he waited until the Liverpool players shot – he never guessed, and that’s why he saved three penalties.
