BACK TO THE FUTURE?

So, SGE and Dr. Thaksin will meet this weekend for what all inhabitants of Planet Blue will hope to be constructive, future focused discussions. Much as the team have shown they are right behind Sven, it’s high time we had a clear public statement on our manager’s future from the chairman. His failure to do so or even attempt to dismiss the comments attributed to him in Dubai are worrying. Will it be a case of back to the future or back to the drawing board, Frank?

SEISMIC SUMMER

If you thought last summer’s MCFC earthquake was off it’s head, then this one has the makings of going off the richter scale. The fact is, if Frank clears his name in Thailand his frozen bank accounts will be thawed and it will be all eyes on SportCity’s revolving door. Our MCFC Vital punters spent half last summer debating 50 plus players linked with the club by the football hacks feverish speculation. All of which none of them turned up!

Already, the heat is on and the bank breaking Ronaldhino rumours persist. Now the hacks have added Thierry Henry to that equation. Svennis maintains that he will have the final say in whom City will sign to join his youth based Sven Revolution, but there are certainly people out there working for Frank and getting involved with so called ‘super agents’ if recent full treatment visits to Eastlands are anything to go by. There is no doubt that the subject of summer signings will be on the cards at this weekend’s Frank-Sven summit.

This week’s transfer rumours in circulation are..

Ronaldhino, Barcelona
Henry, Barcelona
Jo, CSKA Moscow
Crouch, Liverpool
Lennon, Spurs
Diego, Werder Bremen

EUROPE: THE FINAL COUNTDOWN

No, not that absolutely garbage middle of the road and played everywhere single from the eighties, but Sven’s stubborn refusal to throw in the Euro serviette. One month on from our analysis of the last seven fixtures, we might as well take a look now at the remaining three. No change in the main six teams involved save for the odd position, but never say never. Forget our poor lack of goals scored, can City overtake Villa??

In the City sin bin: All clear

Squad size:

City 24+10 on loan

Injured: Onouha: Ruled out for the season. Sturridge: Injured at Sunderland. Richards: Sven hinted he could be out for the season having only just returned to light training. Bojinov: Could return any game now and the last home game of the season could be just the time to do it. Dunne: Stretched his hamstring keeping Pompey at bay and may be rested for Liverpool. Sun Jihai: Missed the Pompey win due to sickness, prompting Elano’s admirable intervention but if I were Sven I’d tell Sun he’s looking a little peeky and should take it easy…for the rest of the season.

Johnny on the spot?:
Fulham’s form has certainly been erratic of late and their recent defeat to the Mickey Mouser’s took the wind out of their sails. But they’ll be fighting for their Premier League lives and must not be underestimated. Meanwhile, City are suddenly creating chances, and loads of them. Should our makeshift defence become more makeshift, then that’s a cause for concern, but our attackers are clearly sensing goals and the sight of a ravenous Bojinov coming on would certainly raise the roof.
City 3 Fulham 1
