Lescott seems to be growing in stature with every start, clearly building on the confidence his selection gives. The confidence generated by playing alongside City’s defensive rock Vincent Kompany is further bolstering his resurgence.
Kompany himself accepted the responsibility of the captain’s armband with relish at Chelsea. It didn’t compromise his focus in the slightest.
Meanwhile, Nigel De Jong is flying and looking very sharp.
