The VMC Forum Posse have spoken and it’s leader of men Vincent Kompany who takes the honours from that chastening defeat at The Stadium of Light…

If Roque Santa Cruz was Mark Hughes’ worst signing, let alone City’s worst ever, then Vinnie Kompany has to be one of his finest.

The classy, versatile central defender/ midfielder grows in stature with every game he plays and rarely if ever puts a foot wrong. He forms strong partnerships with everyone he plays alongside at the back and Kolo Toure is clearly benefitting from Vinnie and Joe Hart’s organisational skills.

YaYa Toure, though he faded in the second half in what looked to be a collective disbelief that the game was not done and dusted for us, is proving the signing of the summer with terrific surging runs that terrify defenders. Defensive midfielder? Do me a favour!

The positives need to be talked up. Our polls through the season are always good markers of who is doing what for the cause and we are noticing at the start of this campaign that a different player is chipping in with a big effort for each game.

4. Vincent Kompany 50%
42. Gnegneri Toure Yaya 35%
