First of all, Planet Blue – many many many apologies to the tardiness of this posting. I will try to update more regularly after the new year, but there are many things that take place in my life, so you must excuse me. Regardless, as I now type this, we have a new man on top our Man of the Season leader board. In an announcement that should surprise absolutely no one, Pablo Zabaleta, and the 17/38th point of the season, is currently in the lead by a sizable margin. Of course, we know that until a team is mathematically eliminated then you can never count them out. Case in point, we were down 8 points with 6 games to play last season and lifted the trophy. That’s 8 points adrift with 6 games to play. Just wanted to remind our friends outside of town celebrating this season.

Either way, Pablo Zabaleta, through 17 leagues games, 6 Champions League games, and a Capital One Cup game (I did not count the Community Shield) has amassed 6 MOTM honors in the Prem and 1 MOTM honor in the Champions League. Through those 24 games, VMC members have cast 451 total votes for Man of the Season, and Pablo has been the recipient of 76 of those, or 16.85% of all votes. Not bad for an Argentinian fireball who costs us a paltry £6.5m, which, honestly, seemed like a bit much at the time. What an incredible buy.

So, there you have it. As it stands, the one and only lionhearted Pablo Zabaleta, our third most expensive import from Argentina, with 253 points leads all other blues by 43 points, as sitting in second is his compatriot Carlos Tevez with 210 points. The current table is below:

Pablo Zabaleta 253
Carlos Tévez 210
Joe Hart 142
David Silva 127
Mario Balotelli 117
Edin D?eko 110
Samir Nasri 98
James Milner 93
Gareth Barry 93
Yaya Touré 89
Matija Nastasic’ 88
Micah Richards 76
Sergio Agüero 67
Vincent Kompany 60
Gaël Clichy 42
Maicon 40
Kolo Touré 40
Javi García 35
Aleksandar Kolarov 30
Jack Rodwell 18
Scott Sinclair 12
Costel Pantilimon 12

Thank you to all the Blues who have voted so far, and keep up the good work. I will attempt to update more often.
