24 hours after City’s classy Europa League seeing off of Aris Salonika, we compile quotes from the main players and the VMC Forum’s history makers…

Roberto Mancini:

‘I don’t know if we can win it. It’s a long tournament. I think we should only think about the next game at the moment and go from there. But my confidence is good. I have always thought that we can reach the final. Dynamo Kiev have big experience, they have always played in the Champions League.

We can play this attacking formation again but not often, unless we improve.’

Joleon Lescott:

‘We know it’s going to be tough if we want to be at the top and if you want to be the best you are going to get to semi-finals and quarter-finals of cup competitions so it’s going to be a long season. Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal do that every year and we look at ourselves as no different to those clubs.’

Buzz Lightyear:

‘I think Colin Hendry last night on the box, hit the nail on the head with Super Mario, that he should be honoured to wear the shirt of Manchester City and that the lad shows no passion, he hits the post then nothing. The fans want to see he cares.’

Scragg:

‘Accomplished performance from the boys tonight. Started very well then took the foot off the gas. Dynamo Kiev next who will be a much more worthy opponent. Dzeko probably MotM. Looked much sharper and took both goals very well. Balotelli menacing and Silva good as always. Tevez relatively quiet by his standards. Lescott also very good, marshalling in Kompany’s absence. Barry had a sound game. Kolarov’s shooting wayward. Aris fans brilliant though!’

eighthsin:

‘This was a performance which we need to build on and perfect.’

fifthcolumnblue:

‘Thought Mario did OK tonight, some of his passing didn’t come off, but I think that will come with games under his belt – he also made his presence felt in our box with a couple of good clearances…Bit worrying to see Vinnie go off, but the commentators said that City Physio had told them it was an elbow to the hip – painful, but hopefully gone in a day or two. Good result, and we look fantastic when we play at a high tempo – not so great once things slow down.’

WELCOME BACK SPARKY THIS SUNDAY WITH VMC:

Head for the VMC Match Day Experience Forum for the build up and beyond to City’s next tremendously important match. A league win is badly needed against Leslie Hughes’ Fulham in order to maintain the Top Four challenge.
