Post Match Reaction to the frustrating draw with Blackburn from the Eastlands movers and shakers and the VMC Forum history makers…

Roberto Mancini:

‘My view is that in every season you have difficult moments…and this is one because we have a lot of players out injured. We’re a bit unlucky, but we gave them a gift for the opener so we will just have to work harder to get through this. It was a bad goal to give away, but this can happen in football…We have a difficult month until the next international break, we need to get some of our injured players back and win these next six games.

‘At the moment the luck is against us, but we know we are a good team so we have to keep working well.’

Samuel Allardyce:

‘We have measured up to a club that should brushing us aside in terms of the quality of players they can afford, the wages they can pay and the limited budget we work on. But good organisation, team spirit and a hard-working side can always cause an upset. Manchester City fans would see this result as an upset.

‘We looked very comfortable in the first half. I was disappointed Mame Diouf did not make it 2-0. That would have been an outstanding situation for us.’

StuMCFC:

‘It’s all very nauseating, like filming the same scene in a movie over and over. Mid-table team with bully tactics who we can’t beat, all the way back to Hughes and still going on. How we didn’t win I don’t know but I said the same against Sunderland. We badly need Adebayor and Balotelli. Jo was unbelievably awful after he came on, the experiment has to end with him.’

Bluedub:

‘How did we only come away with a point? Not good enough first half, much better second. Vieira and Tevez brilliant for the goal, made it look simple, more of the same next time please. Unfortunately Hart and Kolo, who have been very good up to now, cost us two points today. Mancini needs to use more attacking options at home.’

OziMan:

‘Silva should have played and also Barry from the start. Vieira got a goal following a good move but not much else. Still, he saved some of our blushes. I think Mancini has to realise that we have to play in the first half as well as the second. All that touching the ball to each other more backwards than forwards leaves me pretty frustrated. Mancini has to make up his mind quicker on substitutions. The team are playing as if they deserve to win and not trying nearly hard enough.’

fifthcolumnblue:

‘Still very much a work in progress, and the injuries have not helped everyone to bed in either. Let’s face it, we only lost because of one of the biggest comedy goals we’ve conceded in ages, and Blackburn’s strategy of breaking up the play suited them much more than us.

‘Lescott and Richards both defended quite ably today, but neither of them offers much going forward which is what our fullbacks are meant to do in the sytstem where we play wingers on their ‘opposite’ sides, ie Johnson on the right, SWP on the left.

‘Didn’t think Milner had as much impact in the centre as he does from the wings, although a CM role takes more time to get used to than being on the wing – Mancini made two mistakes today – the first was playing Vieira instead of Barry, the second was not bringing Silva on after an hour. We looked much more likely to score once Silva came on.’
