City are unbeaten in seven trips to the capital under Roberto Mancini. Here’s our post match reaction to The Blues stroll in the Upton Park…

Brian Kidd:

City Assistant Coach Kiddo took on the media after Mancio had flown to Italy to be with his sick father. He was full of praise for the City gaffer’s leadership…

‘You don’t win anything in December but if we’re still in the shake-up come March or April we can start to think in those terms. The last time City were in this situation was in the Seventies when I was there as a player…

‘There is no way the pressure will get to the boss because he is too meticulous. His attention to detail is fantastic. It’s like it was under Sir Alex. Roberto’s passion, his drive and his will to win is unbelievable. To work with him on the training pitch is an education.’

Avram Grant:

The beleaguered Hammers boss was magnanimous in defeat and resolute in his belief that he can steady the ship…

‘Manchester City could take the title, that’s for sure. They have quality players everywhere but they are also very physical. I’m sure they can go all the way.

‘We’re not even halfway through the season yet and although I keep saying it, I’m sure we still have time to turn things around.’

Yaya Toure:

‘I have to thank my friends on the pitch because as a team we played very well at West Ham. It was a good three points and we deserved it.

‘It is great to be up at the top at the moment. It was a good match to win at West Ham because it kept the pressure on our rivals but the season is very long and we know we must continue in this way…I enjoy the freedom of playing further forward and I am claiming two goals because it is the first time I have done that in one game. I don’t use my left foot an awful lot so I got lucky with the first one!’

Stu MCFC:

‘Toure, Silva, De Jong, and Kompany were all immense but on the strength not only of his performance and goals, but improvement in both fitness and workrate, Yaya Toure stands out as the MotM for me. Looked every bit the player we hoped we had signed. Only disappointment was Balotelli, who needs to grow up.’

citizhun:

‘Nobody really at their best today, yet we totally dominated from the first to last whistle. Bloody marvellous!’

Bluedub:

‘Yaya was brilliant, some great attacking play for a defensive midfielder. Mario doing himself no favours, although one or two of them decisions that didn’t go his way were laughable, I guess that’s what happens when you have a reputation for going down easy. Sweet third goal, Silva at his best and great run, touch and finish from Johnson, superb. Well in City.’

cityman 51:

‘A win in London is not to be sniffed at, and WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE (all be it with Arse’nal, but hey, it’s still counts in my book) lol, now lets stay there till May…..happy days!’

Scragg:

‘Pleased with that. Thoroughly professional performance , dictated the pace of the game without really getting out of second gear, clinical.’
