We’ll get our coat. Post Match Reaction to City’s barnstorming win at the seaside from the Bloomfield Road movers and shakers and the VMC Forum history makers…

Roberto Mancini:

‘…Sometimes it is good to win games even though you are not playing your best. We knew it would be a difficult game because Blackpool have been playing very well and play good football and they made it very hard for us today.

‘We must improve and we will, but when you only get all your players back a few days before a match, it makes preparation difficult…it is good that we are second but we must aim higher and always try to be the best. If the season ended now, I wouldn’t be happy because we have a very good team and great players and we must only think of being the best, not second.’

Ian Holloway:

‘The Football Association talk about respect but they have got to get those decisions right…Three goals. Our goal, Elliot Grandin was offside, but it went to Taylor-Fletcher and he scored. Their goal, Tevez was offside with the back-heel, I’ve just seen it all. He was offside and came across him and actually scored when he was offside.

‘I think the referee has got three massive decisions wrong, which cost my team having played so well against one of the so-called big teams who have just gone second.’

James Milner:

‘They put us under a lot pressure, which we knew they would. They’ve got a good home support behind them and they’re a good team that play it around really well, but we managed to ride the storm, score three good goals, and hung on at the end.

‘The best is to come but it’s the sign of a good team when they can win and not play the best football…you’ll see the best of us soon.’

Gareth Barry:

‘Carlos has carried on from last season, he’s a world-class striker. Last season he got 20-odd goals and I’m sure he can do that again. If he does we’ll be right up there come the end of the season.

‘It’s a fantastic start. It’s still early doors with some tough games coming up, but if we can keep this run going the confidence will keep growing.’

darryl 28:

‘Does the title have our name on it?!!!! unbelievable.’

PhillyBlueMoon:

‘Our next game is a definite six pointer. Arsenal, at home, in one week’s time. That will be the beginning of the ‘defining’ part of the season, no doubt. Second place, by ourselves, and guess what, no one can overtake us unless it’s on goal difference. And that was without the Toure brothers today. I love this game.’

Spooks:

‘Tevez Man Of The Match. The guy is a phenomenen. The way he won the ball back off Evatt typifies his spirit. Not only did it generate him his second goal of the game, but it also broke Blackpool’s hearts just as they could have turned up the heat even more on us. So important. Silva oozed class when he came on.’
