They came, they parked the bus and took the consequences. City are discovering the knack of unpicking shutdown defences. Post Match Reaction to City 5 Norwich 1…

David Platt:

‘The goals are irrelevant. It is the points that we need. We just need to keep winning and if it is by scoring one and not conceding any then we will take it… People think that we can keep scoring four, five and six per game but football isn’t like that.

‘When Samir Nasri plays with that zest and looks as though he wants to hurt teams he is a real force to be reckoned with. We have not been disappointed with him this season at all.’

Paul Lambert:

‘They are a top, top side. Their movement is first class…if you go and play them at their game, they will pick you off all over the place because they are that good…

‘The reality for us is to try and stay in the league. We have come a long way in a two-year period. We are pitting our wits against some of the best players in the world. They are a really good side.

‘We were beaten by a better side. I am honest enough to say that.’

In The VMC Forum:

Bluedub:

‘It is good to see that we scored another two but we switched off AGAIN at the back to let them score, I know I shouldn’t complain but we should be keeping clean sheets at home against the likes of Norwich.’

FifthColumnBlue:

‘Nasri was head and shoulders above anyone today IMO – complete bulldog in defence and some great passing.’

Dragon and Lance:

‘Amazing game. Everyone played really well, except for Kolo being a bit unreliable at times.’

Kenny Clement’s Tache:

‘Is it worrying that we create so many chances but seem proportionally to convert so few (I know, feels a bit ridiculous writing this) or is it just good that we create so many. ie against Bayern we will create far fewer so will presumably score in direct proportion to chances created.’
