City head back to the continent this week in fine fettle following another never say die performance. Post match reaction to the cracking win at West Bromwich Albion…

David Platt:

‘We said at half-time if we keep our control and discipline, stay together, we know we can impose our play on them and in that second period we controlled the match. If you look at the stats of efforts on goal and possession, you wouldn’t have thought we’d had a man less than them…If you look at Edin’s career for Manchester City, the goals he has scored, he has got a lot of heavy goals, goals that are very important.’

Steve Clarke:

‘I thought we deserved something out of the game. I thought we played well, stood up to Manchester City, but they showed when they went to 10 men that they are champions for a reason. Credit to them, their performance with 10 men was excellent and the only feeling I have now is being disappointed to lose the game so late.’

Edin Dzeko:

‘I enjoyed scoring those two goals and right now, I am super happy!
I took my shirt off and ran over to the City fans after my second because I didn’t know what else to do! It is hard to play for seventy minutes with just ten players but even though we were a man down, we still created a lot of chances…We showed character and I think we really deserved three points. As for me, I’m just happy that I helped the team win and was able to play my part. The manager knows I am there if he needs me and I had fifteen minutes to try and help the team score two goals, which we did. We were better than West Brom today and this was the right result…’

CITY ON TWATTER:

Vincent Kompany:

‘The big man @EdDzeko proved his worth again! We showed a lot of spirit after going down to 10 men. Great performance! Great support! #MCFC’

Sergio Aguero:

‘As I always say, never quit and keep up the fight. Another great win for @MCFC to stay in the race…And we must keep this excitement for Wednesday’s match at the Netherlands. A major Champion’s game is ahead. C’mon, City!!’

Joleon Lescott:

‘@EdDzeko: What a great feeling that was.. pic.twitter.com/pCCW2Nto”- star man. Maybe get in the gym a bit tho, haha’

David Silva:

‘Congratulations to my team mates, very important victory against a complicated team. Let keep going like this. All the best to you all.’

Javi Garcia:

‘C’mon city !! happy for you and for the victory! Vamls equipo ! Feliz por vosotros y por la victoria !! #ManchesterCity #GoCity #dzeko’
