Post Match Reaction to City’s pleasing win over Lech Poznan from the Eastlands movers and shakers and the VMC Forum history makers…
Roberto Mancini:
‘I watched Poznan four or five times, they are a good team. But we played very well in the first half. In the second half we started so-so. I thought they could be a problem but the third goal finished the game.’
The gaffer singled out the on fire David Silva for special praise:
‘For David, it’s easy to play football. Everything for him is easy. He’s a fantastic player.’
The Blues boss then went on to confirm that Emmanuel Adebayor, suddenly running into form, will face The Arsenal:
‘Manu has scored a hat-trick and he has a good chance of playing against Arsenal. He gave an excellent performance. It was very important for us and for him…This was a good victory for us because we are first in the group now. I think it was a good day for all the squad and for Manu, because it was important for him to play well…Ade and Tevez can play together – they played against Blackpool together. My teams play always with two strikers, and Manu and Carlos can play together, for sure.’
Jacek Zielinski:
‘City played extremely well, it was a very good lesson for us. The reality turned out to be different from the plan…City showed us what modern football should be like.’
Shaun Wright-Phillips:
‘The mood in the camp is fantastic.’
StuMCFC:
‘Great hattrick for Adebayor but Silva was the architect of our success today…A good performance, moreso in the first half. Very strong and solid. A bit disappointed in our second half, very sloppy defensively. We must pray in unison that Kolo is fit for Arsenal, Lescott gives me the ‘Dunnies’ (jitters).’
fifthcolumnblue:
‘Job done, but should have had at least 1 or 2 more.’
Spooks:
‘Ade’s first two goals were brilliant – more of the same please. Silva was just awesome – so clever on the ball.’
Buzz Lightyear:
‘Boyata – I hope we have that lad on a long contract.’
