Heading towards the final two days of a cagey summer transfer window, more long drawn out deals are becoming realised as the City wage bill is further trimmed…

The news from Spain that 30 year old Roque Santa Cruz is going to Real Betis has been tempered a little for City fans by the fact that this will only be for a one year loan deal after all. Crocky is likely to be followed to Spain swiftly next week by 21 year old MCFC Academy graduate Vladmir Weiss who will head to Espanyol on an initial season long loan. It was long though that Vlad would end up in Kiev, but Espanyol have announced he’ll be theirs after the Slovak winger’s international performances next week.

Both Crocky and Weiss of course follow Emmanuel Adebayor out of the area and almost completely off City’s bank roll.

Exit door attention is now turning towards three more senior players Craig Bellamy, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Wayne Bridge. Bellamy had recently been expected to join Liverpool and had allegedly approached City for a contract write off, but shellshocked Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is reported to have demanded Spurs hierarchy go for 32 year old Bellamy to inject some fire into his side at all costs following the whipping at the hands of City.

31 year old Bridge has repeatedly turned down opportunities to leave The Citizens and has made more headlines in the tabloids by his romancing than tackling in recent months. It’s hoped at SportCity that he will eventually accept a move to another club this week.

SWP, 30 years old next month is reportedly nailed on to join Neil Warnock’s QPR following advice from upstanding pillar of the social networking community Joey Barton.

Both Bellamy, SWP and Bridge’s departures are increasingly likely to be of a permanent nature.

If all three players are gone by Thursday, there will be great relief around The Etihad Stadium boardroom at an ultimately successful summer of business.

VMC will bring you news of any further transfers as soon as we get it…
