MCFC Academy graduate Reece Wabara has signed a three year deal with The Blues. He could be called upon sooner than he thinks with City’s defence shipping continued absences…

The 19 year old defender of Brummie origin will know he’s in with a great chance of making the squad for City’s return to crucial Premier League action versus Sunderland next weekend.

The club comfirmed today that following the unfortunate sidelining of Kolo Toure, both 22 year olds Micah Richards and Jerome Boateng are facing lengthy absences through injury.

20 year old Dedryck Boyata joins Wabara in contention for a start against The Mackems as Roberto Mancini returns to Carrington to face something of an injury/ absentee crisis.

Of Mancio’s more experienced players, Pablo Zabaleta is still in Argentina with his seriously ill father and Carlos Tevez’s groin injury could yet see him miss the vital Sunderland clash.
