With the January transfer window just a mere five weeks away, the tabloid hacks are feverously busy thinking away at which player they can link Manchester City with next.

Let the fun begin

Since the ADUG takeover, Blues fans have accustomed themselves to the daily dose of potential player links. If it’s not Joe Bloggs today it will be his cousin tomorrow.

Here is a list, albeit not exhaustive, of who we can expect in January!

Kolo Toure – Arsenal
Wayne Bridge – Chelsea
Lukas Podolski – Bayern Munich
Christopher Samba – Blackburn
Kaka – AC Milan
John Terry – Chelsea
Gianluigi Buffon – Juventus
Roque Santa Cruz – Blackburn
Sergio Aguero – Athletico Madrid
Michael Owen – Newcastle

The Sun reports…

‘Manchester City is reported to be preparing a staggering £20million offer for Chelsea and England midfielder Ashley Cole.’

‘City’s billionaire owners are understood to want to exploit Cole’s current contract situation and offer the 27-year-old £130,000-a-week – almost £50,000 more than Chelsea pay him now.’

Yeah right!

Portsmouth’s Lassana Diarra

The Sun believes a senior City source has told them that City are close to signing Portsmouth’s Lassana Diarra for £18m.

The Sun’s source said…

‘The Diarra deal is almost done.’

The Daily Mirror also pipes up with another so-called transfer sensation…

‘City manager Mark Hughes also has his eye on Hull’s Michael Turner, and has put aside £6 million of his spending money for the 25-year-old defender.’

‘Tipped as one of the most impressive defenders in the Premier League this campaign, Turner has only recently signed a new contract with Hull.’

‘However, with strong speculation regarding his potential as an England player, Turner may see a move to City as a means to get himself noticed.’

I wonder who we’ll be talking about tomorrow?
