We’ll Meet Again Napoli

Napoli’s film making chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis maintained his anti-City offensive into the early hours yesterday morning with City’s owner coming in for stick…

The nutjob Stadio San Paolo supremo milked Napoli’s Champions League win over The Blues for all it was worth this week. The eccentric Alan Sugar lookalike who’s attributed quotes down the years read like an A to Z of controversy and his going after of His Highness Sheikh Mansour looks to have ruled him out of the running for City’s vacant CEO position:

‘Mansour has wanted to build a toy, but if he does not win in four or five years, maybe he leaves. Maybe after investing so much, if something does not start winning immediately, he will draw the curtains and go somewhere else and buy another toy…Sheikh Mansour takes all the oil money and has built the club only for a personal whim.’ said the man who whimsically saved Napoli from bankruptcy.

‘Our success proves two things: the first is that perhaps money isn’t everything, as even with the budgets in order you can still go far….It also means that this Napoli side has a strong fibre and can give us great moments.’

As City’s Champions League baptism of fire draws to a conclusion, these words should be used by the Manchester club to galvanise everybody on board and learn from the lessons of a challenging Autumn in Europe. City can come back stronger for it.

We won’t forget you next time around Mr. De Laurentiis!
