The Premier League has appointed self-confessed Aston Villa fan, Andre Marriner as this weekend’s referee between West Ham United and Manchester City.

Andre Marriner – season 2018/19

The 47-year-old Birmingham born member of the Select Group Referees has, this season taken charge of 12 domestic games and in doing so brandished 35 yellow and two red cards.

On this occasion, no City player received cautions while the visitors received two yellows.

The former FIFA listed ref showed 97 yellows and sent five players to the dressing room out of the 35 games he took charge.

Games involving MCFC

Marriner took charge of four games involving Manchester City FC. Overall, he didn’t send any of Pep Guardiola players for an early shower, but he did issue six cards.
