Although it was only the first Saturday of the season, we’ve already seen some well dodgy decisions from the referees and their assistants – some things in life never seem to change.
The Everton v Watford game got a lot of coverage for two shocking penalty decision gaffs and there were others dubious calls in the Blades v Liverpool and Newcastle v Wigan matches.
In our own game, I can understand Corradi’s dismissal and I have no problems with that, but can someone tell me why Dickov was yellow carded?
Just what rule exactly did he break as he was being man-handled by Carvalho in the penalty area whilst waiting for a corner ?
The decision should surely have gone against Chelsea !
I thought the referees were clamping down on defenders holding opposition players at set plays – it didn’t seem like it yesterday. If it happened in open play, it would be a yellow or even straight red, but Carvalho (and others) get away with murder in those dead-ball situations.
Seriously though, just what did Dickov do wrong?
I hope City appeal it as it was a disgraceful decision.
