City suffered another narrow defeat yesterday, their second in the capital in the last seven days; this time to West Ham by the odd goal.
Even though that’s now six successive defeats for the Blues, the last couple of games make you feel a tad more optimistic, as we have show more guts and passion after a series of unacceptable performances.
To say that we’re not having much luck at them moment is an understatement, and having just watched the highlights, we appear to have had two good goals ruled out. These things just always seem to happen when you’re in a bad run, but it was especially gutting given the overall performance.
Once again, Psycho did not criticise the match officials for their incompetence, although he did have to be restrained by the fourth official after Sinclair’s chip was ruled off-side.
If Pearce thinks his stance of not commenting on referees and their assistants is somehow going to result in more favourable treatment on the pitch, then clearly it is not working, and I think most Blues would like to see him taking a more honest view of the situation.
I’m not advocating a Ferguson style rant, but when we’ve been robbed of a victory, things need to be said! It could be that the loss of three points yesterday could cost City dear when the end of season Premiership prize money is awarded. City are not awash with cash at the moment, so even if the season is over in terms of Cups and Euro places, big money is still up for grabs if we can finish in the top half of the table.
I know the players will be a bit down after yesterday’s defeat, but they just need to keep on playing as they have been for the last few games and a change in fortune cannot be too far away, although that does depend somewhat on the performances of the match officials, over which we have no control.
