Tonight is the night that football fans around the country have been waiting for- the second leg of the Manchester derby.
The prize is a trip to Wembley and a chance of silverware after beating Aston Villa.
If City win, it will be their first Cup Final appearance for almost thirty years since they met Spurs and ‘that’ goal.
The tensions are sure to be high after a month of player, media and manager wind ups, but who risks the most tonight United or City?
Here are ten reasons why United is the only answer:
1. United have peaked as the major footballing force and while they are currently flying high in the Premier league they a shadow of their former selves. Loss by loss they become weaker and are merely treading water in a futile attempt to keep afloat.
2. City have proved that they are true rivals as this year they are within touching distance in the league, are in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup and still in the FA Cup just like Leeds.
3. The momentum is with City with United having already lost more games than all of last year and looking nervously over their shoulder in a competition that is their only real hope of silverware.
4. The Laws of Physics are with City as what goes up must surely come down and United are feeling the full force of nature’s gravity at the moment.
5. City squad is stronger which was proved when they beat the Rags without most of our first XI in the last round.
6. Further prove that Fergie knows his time is up as his many defeats this season to the likes of Leeds testify his powers are on the wane and its time to step aside
7. The soaring debt shows no sign of going away any time soon and United will need to win the league and Champion’s League just to hold onto players like Rooney and Vidic.
8. Fergies’s Babes have turned into Dad’s Army with Giggs, Scholes, Van Der Sar and Neville proving that they can’t mix it with the real heavy weights anymore.
9. If no City fans are caught believing that the sport they are going to watch is anything other than football, then United Fans will surely be remembered as the Rag numpties who thought that their team where in a major Golf Tournament or the semi-final of the World Darts Championship.
10. The biggest losers of course will be the Rag fans who, if they lose, will have to endure at least a day’s travel back to whichever Far Eastern homeland they came from.
