Who’s Hot Or Not Compared To Last Season

With this year’s Premier League table taking on a slightly different look to the campaign of 2015/16, which sides have shown improvement on last year and which have fallen away.

Clearly compared to last season, Chelsea’s marked increase in form is obvious to everyone as they sit pretty at the top of the Premier League table and with points to waste as we head towards March, just as reigning Premier League Champions Leicester City’s woeful showings have seen them slip into a relegation battle at the bottom of the table.

A number of sides, when compared to this stage last season though, have shown improvement in terms of the points they have picked up in the games so far, but equally others are having trouble even reaching parity with their form last year.

The Daily Express did the legwork on this one, comparing points gained last year to points tallied so far this campaign and whilst many could take a good guess at the most improved and worse performing sides in the top flight, there are a couple of surprises.

From the look of things, they have tallied points based on games played given the couple of postponements to allow for last weekend’s League Cup Final between Manchester United and Southampton, and of course the three promoted sides from the Championship last summer have their comparisons made to when they were last in the top flight.
