In front of a paltry 16,026 DW Stadium crowd last night Premier League leaders Manchester City came away with all three points.
Credit goes to 4,300 Blues who sang their hearts out for almost 90 minutes and without them the atmosphere would have been diabolical.
I watched the match on TV and to be honest it was embarrassing seeing so many empty seats around three ends of the stadium. Have Wigan fans accepted the inevitable and given up supporting their team? Over the last two seasons they have managed to stay in the Premier League by the skin of their teeth – third time lucky? Enjoy Championship football next season gents.
