I was thinking the other day, that it has always been unfair when a player goes down injured that he should go off and not come on a again until the play has restarted.
If the player is fouled, then surely the team that was fouled should have an advantage i.e. a free kick, but already the player has to leave the field, should not the player who committed the foul leave the field?
The offside law continually seems to baffle me. Assistant linesmen don’t put their flags up until the player offside touches the ball and then you get situations where they put the flag up anyway. Does this law need to be clarified one way or the other, should offside mean offside?
They talk about interfering with play, but if a shot comes in from 20 yards and a striker is in front of goal surely that is interference?
Booking, in the days gone past it was rare for a booking never mind a sending off and now they are common place, should a player be sent off after receiving two yellow cards one for a foul and one for celebrating a goal by taking his shirt off?
Could they not introduce a system for minor infringements, that players are sent to a sin bin for 10 minutes?
If you take a look at corner kicks referees insist that the ball is touching the line before they can take the kick, but in determining whether a goal is scored or not, the whole of the ball has to cross the line, not just the where the bottom of the ball touches the playing surface, because we have all seen the ball go over the line on the bottom, but it does not count if the bit that sticks out is not over the line. Why does that not also apply to corner kicks?
There are a great many sports that now rely on technology to assist in getting the right decisions made. Do you think technology be introduced into football for the same purpose, and if so for what purpose?
It always amazes me when player running into the box fall down so easily, but when they score a goal, they run around like maniacs and no matter how much the other players jump and tug at their shirts they still keep running and hardly ever seem to go down under the challenges of their colleagues.
Is there some of the rules that you would change?

mcfcthriller – I’ve always said to my father at the games – I think there should be a rule that stops time wasting especially around corner flag!!!
Yellow cards or the wasted time added on. I don`t care if it’s to hang on, you just have to keep attacking if you need to secure a win – we pay to see our team play and win but we also want to see entertainment, enjoying the games. Win the right way!
If you can’t win the right way that means you need to improve your game or means simply you`re not good enough!
BlueWolfie – Injury/added time – that is what has always bothered me.
End of the first half, you probably don’t see more than a minute or two, but at the end of the second, it can be anything from 1 to 6 minutes.
Be consistent, if a player is injured (whether real or not), or the ref has to sort out a dispute, then add the full length of it, regardless of which half it happened in.
SIR TROYSTER – I think goal line technology is a must, like in tennis with the hawk eye. I mean people say it will add on to much time on a game, well then how come it’s shown within seconds on the telly and there`s no disputing the result and it doesn`t put that much added time on at all, with all the tech that they have now such as ear and mic’s pieces and pitch side monitors there should be no excuse. At the end of the day a goal that’s given that wasn’t over the line could if it’s not already happened send some one down resulting in major loss of revenue
Sindbad – I really like the ‘sin-bin’ idea — but the problem is that we would have to trust the referees to get it right. A ‘sin-bin’ could increase the number of decisions which the ref makes during a game. If it’s a poor ref then it empowers him to make more of a hash of it. But if the ‘sin-bin’ offences were very clearly defined then it could work.
Over-celebration would be a case in point. A booking for that is ridiculous.
