Would you turn your back when the Wembley Stadium announcer reads the Manchester United team sheet prior to the FA Cup semi-final? I know I would.

Three weeks ago we at Vital Manchester City brought you an article entitled Imagine 40,000 Doing The Wembley Poznan. Today, Wednesday 6 April the Manchester Evening News published the following.

Manchester City fans are planning to turn their backs on United when the old rivals meet at Wembley next week.

But the Blues supporters are simply hoping to stage the first Poznan-style celebration at the famous stadium – and want as many of their 32,000 number to join in as possible.

Fans on the internet forum Blue Moon came up with the idea for the celebration, in which fans turn their backs on the pitch, place arms around each others’ shoulders and bounce up and down.

They got the idea from supporters of Polish side Lech Poznan, who the Blues played in the Europa League this season.

One of the fans behind the idea is Gilbert Clarke and he told M.E.N. Sport: ‘We are going to complete the Poznan before kick off.’

‘The plan is to all start in unison as United`s team is read out just before kick off.’

‘It will start the occasion off with a party atmosphere rather than the hatred of boos and jeering that usually goes on during the reading of the teamsheets.’

MEN link can be found here.

Momentum has grown to such an extend the broadcasting company for the game are going to have an extra camera or two strategically positioned around Wembley Stadium deliberately pointing their cameras at the City end, just for the occasion.
