Speaking to Bild, as relayed by the Manchester Evening News, RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann has admitted that the Bundesliga outfit are unlikely to afford Angelino’s price tag – meaning that the loanee defender looks likely to return to Eastlands.

The Spaniard, who rotated alongside Benjamin Mendy and Oleksandr Zinchenko at left-back earlier this campaign before heading out on loan, now looks odds on to return from his temporary spell.

Angelino re-signed for the Sky Blues from PSV Eindhoven last summer, going on to start just four Premier League matches whilst making two appearances from the bench.

Is Angelino the answer to City's left-back conundrum?

Finding game time limited under Guardiola, the club opted to send him to Leipzig on a six-month loan deal – with recent reports suggesting Nagelsmann wanted to make the deal permanent.

However, upon hearing the news he isn’t likely to exit the Etihad again, some City supporters have been in full applause.
