Youngster could leave Man City with deal ‘agreed’ for season-loan loan

|

Diego Rosa is one of many promising players signed by Manchester City and loaned out to a City Football Group, but the 19-year-old isn’t in a position to challenge for a first-team spot.

Rosa joined City from Gremio in February 2021 and was immediately loaned out to Lommel SK (February 2021 – June 2022). The £5.4m midfielder, who has three years remaining on his deal, is set to be loaned out again after returning from Belgium.

O Jogo say a deal has been agreed between City and Portuguese outfit Vizela that will see Rosa spend the 2022/23 campaign at the Estádio do FC Vizela. The uncapped Brazilian scored two goals with two assists from 29 games at Lommel, so he’ll be hoping to rack up the playing time this coming season.

And if he develops well in Portugal, Pep Guardiola might consider promoting him to City’s senior squad next year. Rosa would have some excellent mentors in Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva and Rodri, but he also has stiff competition for a starting place.

Time will tell how his loan goes at Vizela.

In other news, Man City could make £9m profit on Issa Kabore despite him making zero appearances under Pep Guardiola
