Despite impressing at Girona, scoring 11 goals in 38 La Liga games last season, Nahuel Bustos was loaned out again as he wasn’t deemed good enough to play for Manchester City this campaign.

The 24-year-old returned to South America to play for Sao Paulo in the Brazilian Serie A, but his loan spell at the Cícero Pompeu de Toledo Stadium hasn’t quite gone to plan as he’s struggled for playing time.

Bustos has made just 1/4 league appearances this season, amassing 11/360 minutes of playing time, so it’s no wonder he has zero goals and zero assists to his name.

The uncapped Argentine centre-forward joined Sao Paulo on August 5 but was left out of their 2-0 defeat to Flamengo on August 7, was an unused substitute in their 3-0 win over RB Bragantino on August 14, played 11 minutes from the bench in their 1-0 defeat to Santos FC on August 21 and was an unused substitute in the 1-0 defeat to Fortaleza on August 28.

Sao Paulo have failed to score in three of their last four league games, but Bustos still can’t get an opportunity from Rogério Ceni. The 24-year-old finds himself behind Luciano and Jonathan Calleri in the pecking order, so time will tell if he can force his way into the side.
